When I came across a video of this mare, I was sold on her having a place in my program in about 6 seconds.  Further photos and videos did not change my mind, and she arrived in late Winter 2022.

Beyond her incredible movement, Maca also has a very neat personality.  If she spots something she is concerned with, she'll snort, check it out from all angles, and then march right up to investigate.  She is another horse that I would describe as sensitive but sensible, and she definitely requires connection to build trust with her people.

We tried to breed Maca for 2 years. She would catch easily, but then lose the embryo between 80-100 days. A scope of her uterus with a specialist revealed damage to her cervix and the back wall of her uterus, meaning that she is highly unlikely to carry a foal to term. We opted to try ICSI with Lider Seven for a 2026 foal, which resulted in X DF.

This has meant that the difficult choice to breed or rider Maca was made for us. She was the main calving mount for the spring of 2026. We are looking forward to continuing her training, and are considering other ICSI options for her in the future.
