Jerico was bred by Haras Dos Cavalieros in Texas. After receiving a light start there, TNT Lusitanos in southern Alberta and was given the task to use and promote him as a ranch horse. I admired all of Tanya's beautiful photos of him for a very long time, pondering what the "right home" that he was for sale to, would look like, while being pretty certain that I wouldn't be it…

In the meantime, I bred my Andalusian mare Taja to Marialva, TNT's spectacular stallion, with the goal of creating my next riding horse. Tanya and I had visited a fair bit through the process, so I finally sorted through my mental and emotional junk, got brave and inquired about Jerico. Feeling completely over faced and like I was out of my league,

I spent a MAGICAL two days getting to know Jerico. He was unlike anything else I’ve ever sat on, & there was no option but to bring him home.

Jerico, with the many hours Travis invested into him, has allowed me to have so many experiences and build my skills working with cattle immensely. Riding him has changed how I sit on my other horses, helped me regain some courage as a rider, and overall is just a fantastic experience every single ride.

As time went on, Tanya and I's friendship continued to grow. I started to realize there was only one flaw with Jerico...he was a gelding. I was sold on the breed...and I wanted a way to keep myself mounted. Through many discussions, Tanya was nothing but supportive of me pursuing a small breeding program, and thus one amazingly handsome grey horse sparked the beginning of a dream.
